Walter H. Bentley III
A native of Atlanta, Georgia Walter H. Bentley III joined the Navy immediately after High School where he earned a full ROTC scholarship to Hampton University. Attorney Bentley graduated cum laude from Hampton University with a B.S. in Mathematics. He was then commissioned as a Naval Cryptologic Officer. His Naval career includes tours of duty in Okinawa, Japan, Washington, D.C. and the National Security Agency (NSA). He deployed on four separate special operations submarine missions totaling more than one complete year “under the sea.” Some of his awards include two Navy Achievement Medals and a Navy Commendation Medal among others. After leaving the Navy as a Lieutenant he moved to Metro-Detroit joining Chrysler Corporations Supply Management Division. He then earned an M.B.A. and J.D. from Wayne State University Business and Law School respectively. He became a Wayne County prosecuting attorney and began teaching at the University of Phoenix where he was honored as the 2009 "Professor of The Year" in the school of Criminal Justice. Walter is managing owner of his law firm and owner of Bentley Prep, LLC a test prep company that prepares students for the Law School Admissions Test and the Michigan Bar Exam. He enjoys helping people reach their goals and has spoken at more than 100 schools motivating students to achieve their goals.
Walter H. Bentley III then started his own law practice in 2012 after almost a decade as an assistant prosecutor in Wayne County Michigan, one of the busiest prosecuting offices in the country. An experienced litigator with over 100 trials under his belt, he wanted to help more people in addition to victims of crime. Walter’s firm helps people divorce with dignity, prepare estate and life plans, fostering loving parent-child relationships, and litigate employment law. A naval veteran and business owner, he is proud of his role as a trusted advisor for clients guiding them through proactive family and business legal planning. His firm is centrally located in Southfield where he serves Southeastern Michigan including the greater Metro-Detroit counties. He currently resides in Southfield Michigan with his wife Stephanie and their Yorkshire Terrier Milo.
